Artist's Statement:



Surrender -It’s another word for acceptance. To the awe and the terror. To the void and the echo. Frank Herbert says that “fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.” The answer isn’t to out-run it. Let it obliterate you. Die a thousand little-deaths. And find yourself reborn, if only a little.

There are huge, divine forces pushing down on us all the time. Whether you call that feeling “god” or “nature” or “the internet,” What matters is how we respond to encounters with the holy. The medium changes—sculpture, carving, painting, animation, leatherwork, music—but the question remains: how can we best bring the physical, emotional, spiritual, and digital together without breaking?
